Dear Members, Friends, and Stakeholders of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association

It is with great joy that we present the following announcements:

I. Conference Rescheduled for April 26 to April 28, 2018, in Orlando, Florida!

With the blessing and support of Bishop Noonan, the Annual CPA Conference will begin on the Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Orlando at the beautiful Rosen Plaza Hotel. We will let you know when the conference website and registration is up and running. In the meantime, please mark your calendars and start planning to spend late April in Orlando.

The conference will retain the original title “Healing Divided Hearts in Our World, ” and we have issued invitations to the original speakers to join us for the conference-reschedule. We have begun to receive responses; however, out of obedience to the Church, we are not yet able to provide more details as the Diocese of Orlando requires vetting of all speakers. As we launch the 2018 website, we will start adding confirmed speakers very soon.

Dr. Gregory Creed is the current contact for general conference-related questions. You may reach him at gcreed@catholicpsychotherapy.org. Please, direct speaker-related questions to Dr. Gerry Crete at gcrete@catholicpsychotherapy.org.

II. Please be part of determining the future of CPA by answering our surveys and serving on our new emerging committees!

The choice of the conference date (now permanently moved to the spring) and the location of this conference were both directly driven by your responses to the two conference surveys sent a few weeks ago.

With this I ask a personal favor, on behalf of myself and of our board, we ask all CPA stakeholders to take 5-10 minutes to answer our CPA member services survey. By stakeholders, we include not just our members, but also past-members, students, clergy, and everyone who has a stake in our most important mission. The time spent on this will drive the next 2-5 years of CPA. If you missed a previous invitation, please answer the survey here: http://bit.ly/CPAServicesSurvey

We are also now developing active CPA committees and task forces. Our decision as to the future direction of this association will depend on the data collected in the membership services survey, but also in the leadership/human talent survey. For instance, right now we are already growing the following committees: Education & Media, Growth & Development, Spiritual Guidance, 2018 Conference, 2019 Conference, 2018 Awards, special interest groups, and more!

If you have ever considered serving to grow our mission, this is a great time to get involved. Please we want to know who you are and how you want to co-labor with us, so please answer this survey as well: http://bit.ly/CPALeaderSearch

Our team has been quite busy the past few months, and weeks, please keep an eye on your email for a series of upcoming announcements. Most of all, we hope to share the good news with you in Orlando!

As a Floridian for most of my life, April is typically a beautiful time to be here! It is springtime. As someone who has been in CPA since 2010, I also believe that we are now in a Springtime for CPA.

How appropriate that we will gather on the Feast of our Patroness – Our Lady of Good Counsel! Let us all be intent in praying for her intercession and mantle of protection and guidance for us.
