The Board of Directors of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association and I welcome you to this website and to our organization. The CPA was founded in 2007 out of a desire by a group of therapists to assist Catholic mental health professionals to bring the Faith into their practice, whether in the clinician’s office or academic work. Over the past eight years, we have grown in number due in large part to the thirst for Catholic psychological and spiritual integration. Watch our promotional video.
Amid the increasing confusion of our times, the CPA offers a unique approach to mental health professionals who desire Catholic spirituality, networking and fellowship, and excellence in continuing education. Through national conferences, an online List Serve, a member newsletter and Bulletin, a Practitioners’ Learning Forum, and archived educational podcasts the CPA hopes to bring the Light that is Jesus Christ to our members, and thereby to those to whom they minister. The CPA offers much to enlighten minds and hearts, as we desire to enrich our members as both persons and professionals who carry Christ to others. Please join us as we continue our mission: to support mental health practitioners by promoting the development of psychological theory and mental health practice which encompasses a full understanding of the human person and society in communion with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
Thank you for visiting our website – please join CPA in our mission by becoming a member today!
