Continuing Education

This program is co-sponsored by the Catholic Psychotherapy Association and The Institute for Continuing Education. Continuing education credit is approved as listed below. The Conference offers a total of 15.0 contact hours (3.00 hrs. for April 30th, 6.00 hrs. for May 1st, 6.00 hrs. for May 2nd). Continuing education credit awarded on a session-by-session basis, with full attendance of sessions for the sessions attended. There is no additional fee to make application for continuing education credit.  (No CE credits will be given for student or exhibitor registrations). Application forms and other required CE materials will be available to attendees on each day of the conference. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the attendees to determine if CE credit offered by The Institute for Continuing Education, will meet the regulations of their licensing/certification board.

IMPORTANT:

  • Return completed CE packet to The Institute for Continuing Education, postmarked not later than 30-days following the Conference.  A hard copy MUST be printed and physically mailed.  Mailing address is listed below.
  • Verification of CE contact hours earned will be mailed to the address indicated approximately 2-3 weeks after completed CE paperwork is received.
  • Should The Institute for Continuing Education be unable to assist you with your continuing education needs, your CE application will be returned to you.    
  • CE credit is not available for any event which is not listed on the attendance logs.
  • This Conference offers no "academic" credit and CE hours awarded are not eligible toward fulfillment of a degree.
  • No "ethics" hours are offered.

    NON-CREDIT SESSIONS:  .

    Session 232 "An Ethical Discussion: Mental Health Professionals Supporting Persons Seeking Recovery from Possession and Other Spiritual Afflictions " does not offer CE Credit. You may attend this session, but will not receive CE credit for participation.

    Catholic Psychotherapy Association may choose to offer sessions that focus on more explicitly faith-related issues relevant to the requests and practices of our members, but such sessions may not meet criteria for the awarding of CE credit.

    Psychology:  The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor  continuing education for psychologists. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.   

    Counseling:   The Institute for Continuing Education and Catholic Psychotherapy Association   are cosponsors of this program. This co-sponsorship has been approved by NBCC. The Institute for Continuing Education is an NBCC approved continuing education provider,  No. 5643. The Institute for Continuing Education solely is responsible for this program, including the awarding of NBCC credit.

    New York: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors.  Provider MHC-0016.

    Ohio Board Counseling/ Social Work Ohio Board of Counseling and Social Work Board, Provider RCS 030001.

    Social Work:    This program has been approved for up to 15.00 social work continuing education hours for re-licensure, in accordance with 258, CMR, NASW-MA Chapter CE Approving Program.  Authorization No: D-81431-1 – D-81431-7.  

    New York:  The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers, Provider SW-0025.

    Marriage/Family Therapy The Institute for Continuing Education, Provider 56590, is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This Course meets the qualifications for up to 15.00 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCC, as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.    

    New YorkThe Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Marriage-Family Therapy as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed MFTs, Provider MH-0012.

    Non-Credit Events: Breakfast, lunch, reception events, committee/business meetings, networking sessions, poster sessions.

    Non-Credit Sessions  Workshop 203, “ Supporting Recovery from Possession and Spiritual Afflictions,” does not offer CE Credit.  You may attend this session, but will not receive CE credit for participation. 

    Skills Level:   Due to the interdisciplinary nature of this Conference, sessions have not been rated as to skills level.  Attendees are urged to review the session descriptions to determine appropriateness for professional and personal needs.

    Instructional Methodology May include lecture, demonstration, audio/visual, experiential practice of techniques, large and small group discussion
